Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz linguine or fettuccine
Lobster & Sauce
- 1 cup fresh lobster meat, cooked
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Chop the garlic cloves and fresh parsley finely to ensure they release maximum flavor when cooked and for a fresh garnish.
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine or fettuccine and cook until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes depending on the pasta. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta thoroughly.
- Sauté Garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it becomes bubbly and fragrant. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned, enhancing the buttery base of the sauce.
- Add Cream & Cheese: Gradually pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously to combine smoothly with the butter and garlic. Add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce has a creamy consistency. If the sauce is too thick, adjust by adding some reserved pasta water to your desired consistency.
- Incorporate Lobster: Gently fold in the cooked lobster meat, and squeeze the juice of one lemon over the sauce. Warm the mixture on low heat to meld flavors without overcooking the lobster, which keeps it tender.
- Combine Pasta & Serve: Toss the drained pasta into the skillet with the sauce, making sure every strand is well-coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Fresh cooked lobster is best but canned or frozen lobster meat can be used if fresh is unavailable.
- Reserve pasta water is essential to adjust the sauce thickness to your preference.
- Be careful not to overcook the garlic to avoid bitterness.
- This dish pairs well with a crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay.
- To lighten the dish, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, though the sauce will be less rich.
