Ingredients
Scale
Pasta and Vegetables
- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 cup sweet corn
Steak
- 8 oz steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add bowtie pasta. Cook the pasta until it is al dente according to package instructions. Drain the pasta well and set it aside.
- Cook Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked to your preferred level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Make Roux: In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and the all-purpose flour, stirring constantly for 1 to 2 minutes to cook the flour and form a roux, which will thicken the sauce.
- Prepare Sauce: Slowly whisk in the whole milk to the roux, bringing the mixture to a low boil. Continue stirring the sauce until it thickens, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add Seasonings and Cheese: Stir in salt, black pepper, and shredded Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Combine Ingredients: Fold the cooked bowtie pasta, sweet corn, and cooked steak into the Parmesan cream sauce. Toss gently to combine and heat everything through evenly.
- Serve: Serve the creamy Parmesan steak and sweet corn bowtie pasta hot for a rich and flavorful meal.
Notes
- You can substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp if preferred.
- For a lighter version, use reduced-fat milk and less butter.
- Adding fresh herbs like parsley or basil on top can enhance the flavor and presentation.
- Ensure not to overcook the pasta to maintain some bite (al dente).
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stove with a splash of milk.
