Cookie Dough

Coloring and Decoration
- Purple gel food coloring
- Black gel food coloring
- Purple sprinkles
- ½ cup black or chocolate sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and powdered sugar together using a hand or stand mixer on medium speed until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Then add the eggs and milk, mixing until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients and Flavorings: Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed. Add the vanilla and almond extracts, and continue to mix until a cohesive dough forms.
- Divide and Color the Dough: Divide the dough into three portions. Tint one half with purple gel food coloring to get a vibrant purple dough. Divide the remaining half into black and white portions. Use black gel food coloring to tint one portion black, leaving the other as plain white dough.
- Roll Black Dough Layer: Roll out the black dough into a rectangle measuring approximately 6 by 12 inches on a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking.
- Roll White Dough Layer: Roll the white dough into the same size rectangle as the black dough (6×12 inches). Carefully place it on top of the rolled black dough. Press gently and roll lightly with a rolling pin to ensure both layers adhere to each other without mixing the colors.
- Roll Purple Dough with Sprinkles: Roll the purple dough into a 6 by 12-inch rectangle as well. Sprinkle the purple sprinkles evenly over this layer. Then roll the purple dough into a tight log to prepare for assembly and cutting.
