Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 5 cups Krispie cereal
- 16 Oreo cookies, crushed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 9 cups mini marshmallows, divided
Wet Ingredients
- 5 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the Krispie cereal, crushed Oreo cookies, and one cup of mini marshmallows until evenly distributed.
- Melt Butter: Place a large saucepan over medium heat and melt the 5 tablespoons of butter until fully liquified.
- Melt Marshmallows: Add the remaining 8 cups of mini marshmallows and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the melted butter in the saucepan. Stir continuously over medium heat until the marshmallows have completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the melted butter and marshmallow mixture over the cereal, Oreo, and marshmallow mixture in the large bowl. Gently stir with a rubber spatula until everything is evenly coated and combined.
- Press Into Pan: Transfer the Oreo Krispie mixture into a greased or lined 9-inch square pan. Press the mixture gently with the spatula to flatten and compact it.
- Cool and Slice: Allow the Oreo Krispies to cool and set in the pan for about 30 minutes. Once firm, slice into squares and serve.
Notes
- Use mini marshmallows for easier melting and better texture.
- Press the mixture firmly but gently to ensure bars hold their shape without becoming too dense.
- For easier removal from the pan, line with parchment paper or grease the pan lightly.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness for up to 3 days.
- You can use regular-sized marshmallows if mini is unavailable, but cut them into smaller pieces before melting.
