Description
Delicious and flavorful Spicy BBQ Salmon Bites served with a creamy blue cheese dip. Perfectly caramelized salmon cubes are marinated in a spicy BBQ sauce and cooked to perfection on the skillet, complemented by a tangy, rich blue cheese dip that adds a cool contrast to the heat.
Ingredients
Scale
For the salmon bites:
- 500g fresh salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp BBQ sauce (spicy or smoky)
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp chili flakes (adjust to heat preference)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
For the creamy blue cheese dip:
- ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey (optional, to balance the tang)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prep the salmon: Pat the salmon dry and place it in a bowl. Add BBQ sauce, honey, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to coat the salmon evenly and let it marinate for 10–15 minutes to absorb all the flavors.
- Cook the salmon: Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the salmon bites and cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until they are caramelized on the outside and cooked through. Brush lightly with extra BBQ sauce while cooking to create a sticky, flavorful glaze on the salmon.
- Make the blue cheese dip: In a small bowl, combine sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mayonnaise, crumbled blue cheese, lemon juice, honey, salt, and pepper. Stir gently until creamy, leaving some chunks of blue cheese for texture. Chill the dip until ready to serve to enhance the flavors.
- Serve: Arrange the cooked salmon bites on a platter, drizzle with extra BBQ sauce if desired, and serve alongside the creamy blue cheese dip. Enjoy this perfect mix of spicy and tangy flavors as an appetizer or snack.
Notes
- Adjust chili flakes to control the heat level to your preference.
- Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a healthier dip option.
- Make sure to pat salmon dry before marinating for better caramelization.
- This recipe works well as a party appetizer or a light meal.
- Can be served with fresh veggies or crackers for added texture.
