Vanilla Cinnamon Monkey Bread Recipe

  • Author: Rafael
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

This classic Monkey Bread recipe features sweet, cinnamon-sugar coated biscuit pieces baked to golden perfection in a buttery brown sugar glaze. Easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast or dessert, this pull-apart treat is irresistibly gooey and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuit Dough

  • 2 tubes refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits each)

Sugar Coating

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Brown Sugar Glaze

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Grease the pan: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Generously grease a 9-cup bundt pan to ensure the monkey bread doesn’t stick and comes out beautifully.
  2. Prepare biscuit pieces: Remove the biscuits from the cans and cut each biscuit into 4 equal pieces to create bite-sized chunks for coating.
  3. Coat biscuit pieces: Place the biscuit pieces into a large zip-top bag. Add the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, seal the bag, and shake vigorously until all pieces are thoroughly coated in the cinnamon sugar.
  4. Arrange in pan: Transfer the coated biscuit pieces evenly into the prepared bundt pan, layering them as necessary.
  5. Make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring frequently until the mixture is smooth and combined without boiling.
  6. Pour glaze over biscuits: Evenly pour the warm butter and brown sugar glaze over the biscuit pieces in the bundt pan, ensuring good coverage.
  7. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the monkey bread is cooked through and no longer doughy in the center. The top should turn golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Cool and unmold: Let the monkey bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then carefully invert the bundt pan onto a serving platter to release the bread.
  9. Serve: Allow the monkey bread to cool an additional 10 minutes before serving to let the glaze set slightly. Pull apart and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Make sure to generously grease the bundt pan to avoid sticking.
  • Cut biscuits into equal pieces for uniform baking and coating.
  • Serve the monkey bread warm for the best gooey texture.
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins between layers for extra flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature and reheat gently before serving.
